Candle In the Window Sticker
A digital illustration-turned-sticker depicting the practice of placing a candle in a window during the winter season. A melting candle stands next to a bundle of dried flowers. The window has a diamond panel pattern, and the edge of the window is decorated with stylized flowers.
Although the tradition of placing a candle in your window during the cold months has been practiced for many generations, it took on a specific meaning as a act of civil resistance by Irish Catholics during the period of the Penal Laws, an oppressive set of laws under English rule. Although not many are aware of this origin, it is still commonly practiced as a symbol of safe shelter, hope, and used to combat the coming darkness.
This sticker comes in two forms: color and black and white.
